Panasonic Link2Cell Mobile Campaign
Have you ever walked the aisles of Best Buy, picked up a product, and upon reading the box realized you needed more info than what was provided on the packaging? With Panasonic’s latest suite of telecommunications products a QR code is placed on the packaging for consumers to scan and retrieve additional information about the product. Second Melody was in charge of creating the landing page for the QR code, along with a series of videos showcasing the Panasonic Link2Cell phones – a Bluetooth-powered cordless phone that syncs with your cell phone.
The videos were originally slated to be animated demos instructing the consumer on how to use the product. We decided to take a different approach and create live action shorts that also entertained rather than just inform.
The landing page was built specifically for mobile devices so we used all the latest coding techniques – from responsive media queries to HTML5 video – to ensure each consumer shares the same experience.
QR codes have certainly been criticized by the industry as something that will never catch on to the consumer. Sure, having a QR code on the side of a billboard is a hazard to the consumer, but why not give them the option to explore your brand as they shop? It was a fun project for sure. Next time you’re in Best Buy, Walmart or Target pick up a Panasonic Link2Cell and scan away. Or just scan the code below.
Scan the QR code below to view the landing page on your mobile device.
Below are a few videos from the series.
